DIFFERENCE SPX, V2, & REHAB REFORMERS:

SPX® Max Reformer Series: 9" Height
The SPX® Max is Merrithew’s most cost-effective professional Reformer. Built lower to the ground than the V2 Max Reformer, the SPX also has a narrower frame. At 56cm (22 inches) wide, the SPX Reformer easily fits into multi-use facilities, and multiple units can be stacked when not in use. The SPX Max Reformer with Vertical Stand allows you to store the SPX Max vertically, perfect for facilities that use the same room for non-Reformer based fitness classes. The SPX Max Plus Reformer adds a Vertical Framewith Merrithew’s innovative, retractable rope system and travelling pulleys, combining the capabilities of a Reformer with a Cadillac for a variety of three-dimensional movement. For those working with taller clients, consider an extension upgrade of up to 15 cm (6 inches).

V2 Max™ Reformer Series; 16" Height
Merrithew’s V2 Max™ Reformer series comes at a standard height, and is a popular choice for boutique studios, clubs and fitness facilities with dedicated Pilates spaces. The V2 Max Plus adds a Vertical Frame to the V2 Max Reformer, expanding exercise options and potential to serve a wider client base. Extension upgrades of up to 15 cm (6 inches) are also available.

Rehab V2 Max Reformer: 22.5" Height
For those fitness and physical therapy professionals working in a rehab setting, in a fitness facility with a rehab client base or catering to a senior or mobility-challenged client-base, the Rehab V2 Max Reformer series is ideal. Featuring a higher carriage for easier mounts and dismounts, the Rehab V2 Max Reformer opens up possibilities for working with a broad base of clients of varying levels of ability. Extension upgrades and Vertical Frames are also available for the Rehab V2 Max.

ASSEMBLY DIFFICULTY: EASY

  • Main Carry: The package is long but easier to move than other reformer packages. We recommend having a friend or family member assist when moving the package to the desired location in your home or studio.
  • Assembly Duration: Minimal! The Reformer comes about 70%-90% already put together. We estimate this product would take around 30-60 minutes to assemble, without taking any breaks, based on past user experience.
  • Pilates Assembly Service: Most users assemble this Pilates Reformer on their own. We do not recommend purchasing our Pilates Assembly service. However, if you have medical restrictions that require additional support, we can offer special accommodations. If so, please contact us at Support@PilatesConnector.com, and we can add the assembly to your order after you have made the purchase.

Fits through standard doorway

Perfect top of the line reformer. Can be rolled easily and does fit through my standard doorway. I had a problem with the shipper but the quality of the reformer was perfect.

Love this!

I am so impressed with this Reformer! It is perfect for at-home use because it is easy to move around and store. I also love that I have the option to adjust the settings on this reformer depending on height and mobility in the knees and hips. Plus, all the accessories give you hundreds of options for exercises and make them more effective so I can really FEEL the right muscles working! The DVDs give such expert instruction, and they are perfect to keep me focused during my at-home workout. The quality is great--very sturdy & solid. Easy to clean, too! I couldn't recommend it more.

My first reformer...

I've only had the reformer for +1 week, but I can tell you it is solid and well built, and gives a great bargain for what is out there. I did some 'research' on a home reformer; the 4 companies that the Pilates Guy recommends--Gratz-doesn't offer anything for the home like the other three companies; Peak Pilates-offered a decent package; and Balanced body offered the Allegro which they seem to be discontinuing for the Allegro 2 which is behind its launch date, and it is so different that it seems like an expensive investment for something that has not been able to stand the test of time yet (think 'sexy' reformer-very cool looking, it would have added +1k to get a comparable package); and then there's Stott-known for quality, and this deal can't be beat. You always have to calculate your total costs- shipping, plus tax (if applicable, I live in CA, and Balanced Body is in CA too, so the taxes would be substantial...), all these factors played into my purchase. Some Pilates instructors are partial to the brand they trained on, or method they've learned, (ie. Gratz rolls with more resistance compared to a Stott- which is much more smooth...etc. Stott seems to be more expensive compared to Balanced Body when it comes to spring replacement and accessories...but I'd have to replace the springs several times to make-up for the starting costs.) I read reviews that the reformer smells of rubber for a while, I am quite sensitive to such smells, and I can tell you that mine didn't smell. (Maybe during the initial unpacking...) I use a wood frame BB reformer at Physical Therapy and though this SPX is lower to the ground, it is comparable. The DVDs are good, but I would recommend a good book (or two) to build your repertoire of exercises. ('Pilates' by Rael Isacowitz and maybe a book that isn't as intense that is written in more layman's terms.) Bottom line...In this range, and price-point, this deal can't be beat, and the quality is evident...I highly recommend this reformer package.
